Payroll Administrator
Location: Canton, MD (Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
Position Overview
A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll for a growing employee population. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a structured environment, values accuracy and compliance, and is comfortable working independently while partnering closely with HR and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for approximately 280 employees across multiple states
- Manage payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
- Handle off-cycle payroll runs as needed
- Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- Create, analyze, and maintain payroll reports within UKG/UltiPro
- Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
- Partner closely with HR and internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters
Required Qualifications
- CPP Certification (required) or actively in progress
- 8+ years of hands-on payroll experience
- Strong multi-state payroll experience
- Experience with UKG/UltiPro highly preferred (reporting experience a major plus)
- Ability to pass background and credit checks (no bankruptcies or excessive collections)
- High attention to detail, reliability, and strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting 250+ employees
- Degree preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with payroll systems similar to Kronos/UKG
Schedule & Work Environment
- Standard schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Hybrid model: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
